I had jury duty today.
Thankfully, I was not selected to serve.
I was planning to tell the judge about how freshman orientation is this weekend, and this is a very busy time for my family. (!!) Can I please serve a few weeks from now?
However that wasn't even necessary.
Basically I was just in a big room full of lots of potential jurors, and my name never was called. After waiting about five hours in that room, I was dismissed and told that my service would not be necessary after all. All the people left in the big room were free to go.
During the waiting hours, Hunter and I were texting back and forth...scheming about how I could ensure that I'm NOT selected. (Liz Lemon as Princess Leia definitely came to mind.)
