Pumpkin was born in Edinburgh and is particularly thrilled to be here. She's really enjoying the process of exploring the city, and she loves hearing stories about when she was a "wee bairn" here in bonnie Scotland.
She's developed a funny quirk over the last week. She loves to strike up conversations with anyone (that's not the funny part--that's a perfectly normal part of her personality), but in the midst of the conversation, she ends up trying to match the other person's accent. From what I can tell, she is doing this completely un-intentionally. (and it's hilarious to witness.)
Our dear friends James and Vickie had us over for lunch yesterday. It was so wonderful to catch up with them--what a treat! Anyway, at one point they were asking Pumpkin a question and she slipped in to her "matching" (sort of) Scottish accent when she answered the question. Hunter and I were trying not to crack up.
I've tried to tell Pumpkin (behind the scenes..when it's just me & her) that it's perfectly fine to just be herself and speak the way she normally does. She totally agreed with me and seemed to be oblivious to her on-again-off-again Scottish accent.

In other news, Manzo's 1st tooth has busted through! Bottom right tooth. It's super cute.

My wee scottish lassie, on the morning of her 2nd birthday. (yep, this photo was taken in 2006.)
