Well, ladies and gents, we have internet on Hunter's laptop now, thanks to our friend the dongle.
(for those who have not encountered a dongle before, please let me explain. {I had not encountered a dongle before.} A dongle is a small gadget that looks like a jump drive. You put it into one of the laptop's usb ports, and voila! You suddenly have the option to connect to the internet.)
I am still hoping to post a photo and a sentence each day. Problem is, the only photos I have access to right now are the ones stored on Hunter's laptop, which are all from 2006. I have lots of photos from our trip on Hunter's iPhone. Typically, it's very easy to include iPhone pics in a blog post when I have access to wi-fi. However, since I don't have wi-fi access at the moment, that option's not gonna work. So: trip pics to come at a later date.
Hunter has a fair amount of night-time work commitments during our stay here. Tonight, he'll be gone until late. My exciting plan is this: We don't have TV here, nor will the dongle support the high-octane task of watching something online. However there is a DVD player here, and I did rent a DVD from the public library the other day. Vanity Fair with Reese Witherspoon. Haven't ever seen it. My plan is to set up the iron so I can finish drying my last couple of loads of laundry. (Translation for american friends: We do not have a dryer here, nor do many Scottish families. Wet laundry is hung on indoor heaters or on a laundry line to dry. Sometimes one uses a hot iron to get the last stubborn bits of dampness out of the clothes before folding and putting them away.)
Ta ta for now!
